Are you attending our โcamp in / camp outโ or afternoon activities on Sunday 6 May? We’re looking for volunteers.




Can you help with one of these environmental activities?
Everything you need, and full instructions will be provided.
- Community Garden: Wildflower seed bombs (community gardens)
- Croquet Lawn: Giant environmental trivial pursuit
- Metal tables: rag wreaths and tote bags from tops
- The Undercroft: milk bottle elephants
- Guiding gazebo: wildlife spotting and biodiversity count, quiz and treasure trail around the gardens
Singing and PR

Can you support our campfire leader with songs familiar to Brownies and Rainbows in the evening?
Or perhaps you would like to help at the PR stand and talk to potential new volunteers?
Photographers wanted
Are you a keen photographer? Share your photos with us on the day using the hashtag #GirlguidingAtThePalace. We’ll share some of the photos on our Instagram and Facebook pages, and in our blog after the event.
If you’d like to help with large group photos, please let us know.

More about the event
We are excited to be holding our Coronation celebration at the Bishopโs Palace in Wells.
This event is open to Girlguiding Somerset members from all sections and is split into two parts. The Sunday afternoon begins at 12.30pm and will be filled with lots of different, fun activities for our members, and their families, friends and the wider community to enjoy for free.
Then, from 5pm, the Palace will be closed to the public, and we have a special sleepover for units โ with 200 spaces for camping on the South Lawn, and 50 spaces for indoor sleeping in the beautiful Undercroft room.
The sleepover closes after breakfast at 9am on the Bank Holiday Monday morning.
The sleepover cost is ยฃ10 per person (excluding travel) to cover hot food on Sunday evening and continental breakfast Monday morning.
Access to The Undercroft is step free and there are indoor accessible toilet facilities on the same level. There is an accessible toilet outside in the stable block which can be accessed at night via a step free path (there is stepped access available as well).
