Hi everyone! We wanted to introduce ourselves before we properly start our blog to keep you updated with us learning to sail! As some of you may know, Somerset’s Girlguiding boat (Somerspirit) has been moved to a new home in Durleigh. We are looking forward to learning how to sail.
My name is Alura-Rose, and I am an Assistant Guide Leader at 3rd Bridgwater Guides. For work, I am an Inclusion Teaching assistant, and am also completing a History degree through the Open University. I like to sew and play Sims (when I can find the time!). I love trying out new skills and hobbies! While I am a little nervous to learn how to sail, if Girlguiding has taught me anything it’s to push through and enjoy the experience!
Hi!! My name is Courtney, and I am an Assistant Guide Leader at 7th Bridgwater Guides. I am a full time university student studying English Literature at The University of Bristol. Alongside my studies I also work at a local charity. You would usually find me studying but when I do have a spare moment I usually spend it outside with my horse, researching cool dinosaur facts, or crocheting! I am really looking forward to learning to sail because I love spending time outdoors and learning new skills! I am also most looking forward to watching all the Guides getting stuck in and trying out something new!
