The late evening of 29th December and morning of 30th December have been, for me, a whirlwind experience.
The warmth of our Guiding Family in Somerset and beyond has been humbling, and I am so grateful to everyone for the kindness and appreciation shown in the many messages of Congratulations I have received.
I am conscious though that this honour of the MBE is for you too, it is your dedication tenacity and enthusiasm for Girlguiding that inspires our young people to find their voice, empowers them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community. This Award is not for me alone but I will receive it for each and every one of you.
We are indeed a family, we reach out to each other, we care for each other and together we make those precious gifts that Girlguiding has to offer, FUN, FRIENDSHIP and ADVENTURE.
THANK YOU all for making this journey possible for all our young people and enjoy this recognition of all that Girlguiding means to our Guiding Family in Somerset.
